Smith Job: Lakeside Refresh

The Smith Project is a perfect example of how smart design and expert installation can transform a steep, underused slope into a beautiful, functional part of the landscape. The family wanted a safe, visually appealing way to access the lake from their home, along with spaces to enjoy the outdoors along the way.

We began by installing a winding pathway using natural stone steppers, carefully laid to follow the slope while maintaining comfort and safety. Retaining walls were added to support the hillside, control erosion, and define each level of the descent. To enhance the natural feel of the space, we incorporated landscaping plants, decorative rock, boulders, and a clean layer of premium long leaf pine straw throughout the area.

Halfway down the hill, we created a cozy fire pit area using pavers, giving the Smith family a perfect mid-slope destination for relaxing and entertaining. Exterior lighting was thoughtfully placed along the path and around key features to provide safe access in the evenings and highlight the beauty of the landscape after dark.

What was once a steep and difficult area to navigate is now a well-connected, visually striking part of the property. The finished result brings together form and function, turning the hillside into a lasting and enjoyable outdoor space for the entire family.
