Bernardin Job: Pinestraw Palooza

The Bernardin property sits on a scenic lakeside slope with incredible views—but with over 42,000 square feet of steep terrain, it required a thoughtful solution to manage erosion and improve the landscape’s appearance. The goal was to create a clean, natural look that worked with the slope while preserving the integrity of the hillside.

To accomplish this, our team installed more than 1,200 bales of premium long leaf pine straw. This high-quality material not only offers excellent coverage and erosion control but also gives the landscape a warm, uniform finish. The pine straw’s dense, interlocking fibers help keep it in place even on steep grades, making it an ideal choice for large, sloped areas like this one.

We also incorporated river rock to create dry creek beds throughout the property. These natural drainage solutions help redirect water flow during storms while adding texture and interest to the landscape. The rocks blend seamlessly with the environment and enhance the overall design without overwhelming the natural beauty of the lakeside setting. The result is a clean, durable, and visually appealing transformation that complements the land while solving practical challenges.
